Willow Hurdles
Ranging from 8" to 7'6" high Willow Hurdles always look fabulous woven in situ as well as in panels. Weaving it in situ the hurdle can follow the contours of the land so it blends seemingly into the landscape as if it had always been there. The majority of the willow is harvested from the willow beds I planted up over 10 years ago now and harvest annually.
On top of walls, on rock or by far the easiest-in soil, there are no barriers to where these beautiful hurdles can be woven. Over the years I have completed a wide range of diverse projects with willow hurdles~Let your imagination put my skills to the test with any project or design.
Panels are made to order so most sizes can be accommodated. Standard sizes are also kept in stock as well and I weave willow throughout most of the year unlike with Hazel which is more seasonal.
Simple to install as well these panels are softer and a tighter weave means that these are more popular in urban areas where privacy is more key. Both in panels and in situ the willow would be woven fresh or soaked and once they have dried out a little can be treated, traditionally with Linseed Oil and Turps (50:50 mix). If treated twice yearly these beautiful fences can last over ten years, the longest so far lasting 14 years before being rewoven.

Continuous Willow Hurdle
Continuous Willow Weave-6' high and edged with 4" oak posts. A mixture of sawn uprights and steel and some of my own willow here.
