The Newt, Somerset

I had the immense pleasure of spending several months working in the beautiful gardens of The Newt. The project was to redo an existing fence which was done with willow and replace it with a split Hazel weave and willow topping. Working alongside the beautiful Colour Gardens and providing some nice little eye holes for people to see through into the next gardens. All supported with sweet chestnut, ensuring all materials used were coppiced and sustainably sourced.

Alongside providing the gardeners a little tool store which consisted of a cleft sweet chestnut shingle roof, round pole design and some split Hazel doors.To fit in alongside a walled garden with some tricky angles to calculate. Lunch breaks were easily consumed by wandering around this fabulous estate!. Completed in August 2022.
