SFY dayUnderwood Crafts is a one-man operation, based in Wirksworth, Derbyshire which I founded in 2000.  I work and source my material in sustainably managed woodlands, coppicing and harvesting material in the winter months.  Most native English trees when cut back will produce shoots from the stump which eventually grows to produce a crop of poles. This process is known as coppicing and the coppice trees and their produce is known as underwood.

I have obtained the necessary training and have purchased the very best tools and safety equipment.  The business began initially to manufacture and supply Wattle Hurdles over the years this has expanded to include a wide range of coppice products and skills.

I am a member of the Working Woodlands Trust and National Hedgelaying Society.
